Kat’s verdictWrite down the General’s job and the exact target before enhancing. Use the live Power and Details views to see what changed, then stop when the role requirement or gateway threshold is met. Power is evidence that development happened. It is not evidence that the right march improved.

What the current screen actually confirms

Evony’s official Version 5.32.0 announcement, dated August 14, 2026, says the Enhancing interface now shows Power in real time as Attributes change. It also separates each Attribute value, marks increases and decreases by colour, and adds a Details button that shows how Attribute Buffs change during the current enhancing process.

An official September 23 explanation adds that the General page has a Power Details icon and that displays for General, Equipment and Dragon power were refined. These are inspection tools. Neither official page says that the largest Power increase is automatically the best combat choice. The interface brought receipts. It did not choose the job.

Separate a combat target from a gateway target

These targets can overlap, but they are not identical. Temporary equipment or a creature can help a gateway number while doing little for the General’s permanent role. Permanent ascension, Specialties or cultivation may improve a real combat build, but they also consume scarce materials. Decide which problem exists before solving the more expensive one.

Do not enhance an assistant for battle power

Evony’s current official assistant-General answer is unusually clear: upgrading, cultivation, enhancement, star enhancement and ascending on the assistant do not take effect. Equipment Attributes and the carried Dragon or Spiritual Beast’s Attributes also do not take effect. Compatible original Special Skills, Specialties, Skill Books and skins can apply, and a required creature may still need to be attached to activate a Special Skill.

Therefore, do not spend Medals, Gold, Gems or Blood of Ares on an assistant merely because the new live Power display makes the increase visible. Develop that General only for a separate main-General, Duty, Senate, Covenant or threshold job that actually uses the investment. A beautifully enhanced assistant remains very supportive of someone else’s statistics.

Run the five-line audit

  1. Name one job. Write “main ranged march”, “Victory Column threshold” or another single purpose. If the answer is “everything”, the audit has found its first problem.
  2. Record the baseline. Save total Power, the four displayed Attributes, equipped gear, assigned creature, active Specialties and the relevant target or report.
  3. Open Details before confirming. Read the Attribute Buff changes for the current enhancing step. Check that the useful line matches the job rather than merely turning green.
  4. Change one development source. Enhance, cultivate, change equipment or move a creature one category at a time. Reopen Power Details after each change so the source of the increase stays identifiable.
  5. Verify the result. For combat, compare the same troop type, march composition, target and major buffs. For a gateway, confirm the requirement is satisfied and then restore every borrowed gear piece or creature.

Player discussions about high Victory Column requirements describe moving Civilization equipment and creatures between Generals, then struggling to reconstruct the original builds. That is observation, not an official rule, but the administrative lesson is excellent: take a before screen. Evony already supplies enough archaeology.

Use a stop rule for each target

For a gateway, stop when the live requirement is met with a small safety margin and the account can restore its working builds. Do not permanently amplify rare equipment solely to close a temporary display gap unless that equipment also belongs in the final role. Waiting for ordinary account growth is a valid decision.

For combat, stop when the next step no longer improves the relevant line enough to justify the scarce material, or when a comparable report does not support the claimed gain. Total General Power can rise through a category that is real but poorly matched to the task. A wall General, monster General and gathering General are not competing in the same beauty pageant, however committed the Power screen may be.

Conditions and evidence limits

The Version 5.32.0 interface changes are official and remain visible in later client versions where the feature is available. Public App Store notes for Version 5.37.1, released October 28, 2026, say only “Bug fixes and improvements”; they do not announce a changed enhancing formula. The specialist General overview supports the ordinary separation of Attributes, stars, Specialties, assistants and equipment, but it was published in 2023 and contains terminology that should not replace current in-game labels.

Kat’s Quiet Keep did not independently measure the game’s Power formula, enhancement cost curve or combat conversion for every Attribute. Current screen values, role wording and controlled reports take priority. Server age, General level, building unlocks and account systems can change which gateway is available and which investment is sensible.
