Read the item rule, not the icon
Evony event items do not share one expiry rule. Current official notices document three different outcomes: disappearance, retention across rounds and automatic conversion into another item.
Similar art, similar names and the word Coin are not evidence. Identify the exact item, then find the rule for that event. The calendar is quite willing to keep the lesson and remove the currency.
Three confirmed outcomes
| Outcome | Confirmed example | Practical move |
|---|---|---|
| Expires | Escudo Gold Coins and Spanish Silver Dollars: the official Triumphal Celebration notice says remaining coins disappear after the event. | Redeem before the shop closes. Do not buy uncertain partial progress unless the remaining shortfall and reward value are both known. |
| Persists | Dwarf Coins: the official Arena notice says they do not disappear and may be accumulated over multiple rounds. The official knowledge base also says VIP Exclusive Wheel Tickets, Royal Coins and Strategic Stockpile Tickets are permanently retained. | Choose a target and keep the balance if today’s smaller reward is less useful. Persistence removes the deadline, not the need for a plan. |
| Converts | Dragon Soul Leaves: the official Arena notice says remaining leaves convert into Dragon War Chests. It also says remaining Heirloom Torches convert into other items. | Compare the available event use with the named fallback. Conversion is an outcome, not proof of equal value. |
Use a three-line ledger
Shortfall = target cost − owned balance − guaranteed incoming
Write only three numbers: what you own now, what you can still earn with certainty before closing, and the cost of one chosen reward. Chance-based drops and packages you have not decided to buy are not guaranteed incoming.
Worked example: a reward costs 400 currency. You own 285 and can still claim 60 with certainty. The usable balance is 345 and the shortfall is 55. If the currency expires, decide whether acquiring 55 more is worth that reward; otherwise redeem lower useful items before closing. If it persists, keeping 345 for the next round may be the cheaper decision.
Same balance. Different rule. Entirely different wallet conversation.
Do not call conversion saving
Automatic conversion prevents a total loss, but it can still replace a chosen reward with a lower-value or random fallback. Check the current notice for the converted item and quantity. Do not assume one token becomes one equally useful token.
A current specialist guide for Wheel of Dragon War describes Dragon War Chests as random materials and speedups, then recommends using leaves during the event when the limited wheel reward is the goal. That value judgment is specialist analysis, not an official guarantee of chest contents or spin results.
Check five things before the timer
- Exact item name: do not merge different coins, tickets, leaves or counters into one rule.
- Event end and shop end: a display or redemption period may differ from the earning period.
- Carryover sentence: look for disappears, will not disappear, permanently retained or converted.
- Target and shortfall: calculate the gap to one useful reward before adding effort or spending.
- Current screen: confirm server availability, version requirement, inventory and conversion details in the live event.
Player reports support the Dwarf Coin carryover, but reports about other similarly named coins conflict. That is useful evidence against generalising, not a reliable rule for another item. When no current item-specific rule is visible, spend expiring-value currency conservatively and do not purchase toward an unverified future carryover.

Evidence reviewed 2026-09-27. The rules above are confirmed only for the named events and items. The Arena announcement says version 5.32.0 is required to view its event and feature changes. Event inventory, server availability, closing time, conversion quantity and fallback contents must be confirmed in the current game screen.
Name the item.
Find its rule.
Let the timer keep only the drama.
